Welcome to The Trails Community Center, a space where modern rustic aesthetics meet warmth and functionality. The design embraces natural materials, featuring a paneled wood ceiling in rich tones and exposed timber rafters that create an inviting atmosphere. A balanced interplay of wood and stone elements reinforces the sense of comfort and connection to nature.

Sketching

Early design direction came to life through hand sketches and markups—a process that shaped the core vision of the project. Late-stage program adjustments, such as integrating additional restroom amenities, brought us back to the butter paper for quick iterations and refinements.

The Design

  • To meet the site’s diverse needs, we organized the program into three distinct zones:
    • Service Facilities for essential functions
    • A Multi-Use Outdoor Pavilion for flexible community gatherings
    • An Indoor Gathering Space with supporting amenities arranged around it
This approach ensured functionality while maintaining a cohesive architectural language.

    Bringing it all together

Buildings require furnishings toreally be functional. That's why we hand selected each piece of furniture forthis space with flexibility, function, and comfort in mind. This last step iscritical to tying everything together and making the space feel like more thanjust four walls and a ceiling. Selections included cozy wingback chairs in richnavy velvet, a community table with bar height stools anchoring the space, office furnishings for staff that will be on site, and patio and poolfurniture. The interior renders were then updated to include these selectionsand all finalized adjustments and design decisions for the space
